Reading midfielder Brooke Chaplen is set to retire at the end of the season. Rather aptly considered as Royals royalty, the 33-year-old has made 96 appearances for the club and scored 26 goals since joining in 2017. Earlier this year, Chaplen announced that a bone tumour had been found in her leg which required treatment and rehabilitation. Following the success of the operation, Chaplen has taken medical advice and will not return to professional football.
